Starting the engine
If the vehicle is equipped with a manual transmission (hereinafter referred to as MT), set the gearshift lever to neutral and fully depress the clutch pedal. If the vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission (hereinafter referred to as AT), set the selector lever to position P. To start the engine, insert the key into the ignition switch and set it to the START position. After the engine starts, release the key. Do not hold the key in the START position for more than 15 seconds.

When opening the doors, if the ignition is not on, the ignition switch backlight turns on automatically. After closing the doors or turning on the ignition, the backlight automatically turns off after 10 seconds.
