Removal and installation
1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal and securely insulate the cable connector.
Caution: After disconnecting the battery cable, wait at least 30 seconds before proceeding with further work.

2. Loosen the screws securing the front airbag module using an Allen key.
Caution: The removed airbag module should be stored in a clean, dry place with the protective cover (front side) facing up.

3. To disconnect the SRS coil wire connector from the air bag module, press the lock toward the outside and release it.
Caution: To avoid damaging the connector, do not apply excessive force when disconnecting the connector that connects the coil wire and the air bag module.
4. Remove the driver's front airbag module.
5. Using a special tool, remove the steering wheel.
Note: Do not use a hammer to remove the steering wheel.

6. Remove the upper and lower steering column covers.

7. Remove the lower instrument panel trim.
8. Remove the SRS coil wire.

9. Disconnect the wiring connectors and remove the steering column combination switch.
10. Loosen the mounting bolts and separate the ignition switch from the steering column.
Examination
1. Disconnect the ignition switch connector located under the steering column.
2. Check the condition of the circuit between the connector terminals.
3. If the circuit condition differs from the specified one, replace the ignition switch.
