Attention: see the section "Safety measures during work" chapters "Maintenance and general inspection and adjustment procedures".
Removal and installation
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal and securely insulate the wire connector.
Attention: after disconnecting the battery cable, wait at least 30 seconds before proceeding with further work.
2. Turn away screws of fastening of the module of a forward pillow of safety by means of a key under an internal hexagon.
Attention: the removed airbag module should be stored in a clean, dry place, with a protective pad (front side) up.
3. To disconnect the SRS coiled wire connector from the airbag module, push the retainer towards the outside and release it.
Caution: To avoid damage to the connector, do not apply excessive force when disconnecting the connector connecting the coiled wire and the airbag module.
4. Remove the driver's frontal airbag module.
5. Using the special tool, remove the steering wheel.
Note: do not use the shock method (with a hammer) removing the steering wheel.
6. Remove the upper and lower casings of the steering column.
7. Remove the lower furnish of the panel of devices.
8. Remove the SRS coiled wire.
9. Disconnect the wiring connectors and remove the steering column combined switch.
10. Turn away bolts of fastening and separate the ignition lock from a steering column.
Examination
1. Disconnect the ignition lock connector located under the steering column.
2. Check up a condition of a chain between conclusions of a socket.
3. If the condition of the circuit is different from the specified, then replace the ignition switch.
