Note: The procedure for checking the tension of the alternator drive belt is given in the chapter "Maintenance and general inspection and adjustment procedures".
The charging system consists of a battery, a generator with a built-in voltage regulator, a battery charge indicator and electrical wiring.
The generator has a rectifier unit consisting of six diodes (three positive and three negative), passing through which the alternating voltage is converted to direct. A constant voltage is applied to the output "IN" generator.
The charge voltage supplied by the alternator is controlled by the battery charge maintenance system. The generator is driven by a belt from the crankshaft of the engine.
The main components of the generator are the rotor, stator, rectifier block, brushes, bearings and a pulley for belt drive from the crankshaft. A built-in electronic voltage regulator is fixed on the brush holder.
- Generator Rated Output: 13.5V/95A
- Maintain voltage range: 14.4±0.3V
- Temperature compensation of regulated voltage: -10±3 mV/°С
