General information about the charging system (Mitsubishi Matrix)
0
The charging system consists of a battery, a generator with a built-in voltage regulator, a battery discharge indicator lamp, and wiring. The generator has a rectifier unit consisting of six diodes (three positive and three negative), through which the alternating voltage is converted into direct voltage. The direct voltage is supplied to the "B" terminal of the generator. In addition, the charging voltage produced by the generator is regulated by a system for maintaining a constant battery charge level.

The main components of the generator are the rotor, stator, rectifier unit, brushes, bearings and pulley for belt drive from the crankshaft (Fig. 7.8).
