Throttle lever — adjusting the position of the stop screw (Hyundai Elantra J1)

Loosen the throttle cable tension.

Loosen the lock nut of the throttle lever stop screw.

Turn the screw (1) counterclockwise until the screw extends to the required value, also close the throttle valve completely.

Turn the screw (1) counterclockwise…


Turn the screw until it touches the throttle lever (throttle opening start points).

From this position, turn the adjusting screw another 1-¼ turns.

While holding the throttle lever stop screw from turning, tighten the lock nut securely.

Adjust the throttle cable tension.

Adjust the idle speed.

Vehicles without TCL system: Adjust the position of the closed throttle position switch and the throttle position sensor.

Vehicles with TCL system: Adjust the position of the throttle closed position switch and the accelerator pedal position sensor (accelerator).
