Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) — Check (Hyundai Elantra J1)

After disconnecting the connector (1) of the throttle position sensor (2), measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 4 of the connector on the sensor side, which should be 3.5-6.5 kOhm.



Measure the resistance between terminals 2 and 4 of the connector on the sensor side. As the throttle valve is slowly opened from the fully closed position to the fully open position, the resistance should change proportionally to the throttle opening angle.

If the resistance does not correspond to the required values, or does not change smoothly, replace the throttle position sensor.
