Raise the car.
Check the fastening of the brackets and clamps for strength.
Check the muffler with the extension for burnouts, rusty areas and abrasions.
Replace significantly dented muffler pipes.
Check the rubber suspensions for porosity and replace if necessary.
Lower the car.
In vehicles with a catalytic converter, check the electrical connection and the tightness of the lambda probe.
