Removal



Caution: Before starting operations to remove or inspect exhaust system components, make sure they have cooled down sufficiently.

Disconnect the main muffler from the central pipe of the exhaust system (Fig. 2.275).

Remove the rubber-metal brackets and remove the main muffler (Fig. 2.276).

Disconnect the center pipe of the exhaust system (with the front muffler) from the inlet pipe of the exhaust system on one side and from the main muffler on the other.

Remove the rubber-metal brackets, and then remove the central pipe of the exhaust system (with the front muffler).

Loosen the exhaust pipe bracket mounting bolts and disconnect the exhaust pipe from the catalytic converter.

Loosen the bolts securing the exhaust system's inlet pipe to the exhaust system's central pipe (with front muffler).

Installation



Install the exhaust components in the following order: first the exhaust pipe, then the center pipe and the main muffler. Temporarily tighten the exhaust components.

Tighten the exhaust system components securely. Make sure that there is no contact between the exhaust system components and any parts of the vehicle body.
