A starter is a small electric motor that is needed to start an internal combustion engine.
The starter consists of a drive housing and a pole housing with a collector. The pole and collector housing contains the anchor, collector and brush holder.
The front drive housing contains a gear drive. There is a traction relay located on the drive body.
Depending on the engine type, 12-volt starters of different power are installed on cars.
Removal
Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. Disconnect the battery only when the ignition is off.
Disconnect the intake manifold bracket.
Remove the wire (1) from terminal 50 on the starter (to the ignition switch) and wire (2) from the battery from terminal 30.
Unscrew the two bolts (3) from the gearbox and remove the starter motor with the clutch housing.

Installation
Install and secure the starter by tightening the two bolts (3) to 30 Nm.
Screw the wire (2) onto terminal 30 with a torque of 15 Nm and push the cable connector wire (1) onto terminal 50 until it snaps into place.
If removed, install the intake manifold support and tighten the four bolts to 20 Nm.
Connect the battery.
