Checking the idle speed (Hyundai Accent X3)

Verification conditions:

Lighting, electric cooling fan and all consumers are switched off, the gear lever is in neutral position.

1. Run the engine at a higher speed than idle until the coolant temperature reaches 80-95°C.

2. Set the engine speed to idle speed.

3. Check the ignition timing. Adjust it if necessary.

4. Let the car travel for 5 minutes at a speed of 48; km/h or let the engine run at 2000 to 3000 rpm for more than 5 s.

5. Let the engine idle for 2 minutes.

6. Use a tachometer to determine the engine speed. If it is out of specification, adjust it to match.

Default value:
  • Idle speed (base ignition advance) - 850±30 rpm (5 ±1)
