Note: before starting the adjustment, check the serviceability of the spark plugs, injectors and idle speed control servo. In addition, make sure that the compression value in the cylinders is in the range from the nominal value to the limit value, and the compression difference between the cylinders does not exceed the limit value, etc.
1. Before starting the test procedure, prepare the vehicle according to the following points.
- A) The engine is warmed up to a coolant temperature of 80-95°C.
- b) Lights, air conditioning condenser fan, air conditioning and all accessories are off.
- V) Gearbox: selector lever in position "R" or "N" for models with automatic transmission or neutral gear for models with manual transmission.
- G) The steering wheel is in the straight ahead position.
2. Connect a control tachometer from the primary side of the ignition coil or connect a tester to the 16-pin diagnostic socket under the instrument panel.
3. Start the engine and let it idle.
4. Run the engine at approximately 2000 - 3000 rpm for 5 seconds or more.
5. Let the engine idle for 2 minutes.
6. Read off the idle speed.
Base idle speed rating:
- Engine 2.0L:
- Models with automatic transmission - 750±100 rpm
- Models with manual transmission - 800±100 rpm
- Engine 2.4 l - 700±100 rpm
- Engine 2.7 l - 700±100 rpm
Note: The idle speed is controlled automatically by the idle speed control system.
7. If the idle speed does not match the nominal value, check the components of the fuel injection system (see the relevant section of the chapter "fuel injection system (MFI) ").
