Removal
1. Disconnect the idle speed control mechanism.
2. Remove the air hose connected to the throttle body.
3. Remove the accelerator cable.
4. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose and the brake booster vacuum hose.
5. Disconnect the vacuum hose connectors.
6. Disconnect the high pressure fuel hose after releasing the pressure from the fuel line to prevent fuel spillage.
7. Remove the manifold support.
8. Remove the manifold assembly and gasket.
9. Disconnect the fuel injector wiring connector.
10. Remove the distribution line with injectors and pressure regulator.
Warning: Be careful not to drop the injectors when removing the fuel rail.
I. Remove the insulator from the intake manifold and disconnect the heater hose.
12. Remove the intake manifold.
Examination
Collector
Check the intake manifold for cracks and other defects. Replace it if necessary.
Intake manifold
Check for cracks and damage.
Air hose
Check for cracks and damage.
Installation
Install the distribution line with injectors and pressure regulator.
