2. Apply a force of 100 N to the middle part of the belt between the pulleys, as shown in the figure, and measure its deflection.
Type A Tension Tester
1. During the measurement, the scale section of the instrument should not come into contact with other parts.
2. Adjust the deflection or tension of the power steering oil pump drive belt.
3. Tighten the adjusting bolt.
4. Turn the crankshaft with the handle 1-2 turns.
5. Check belt deflection and readjust if necessary.
Adjusting the tension of the air conditioning compressor belt
1. Loosen the adjusting bolt "A" on the tensioner.
2. Adjust the deflection of the belt with the adjusting screw "IN".
3. Tighten the lock bolt "A".
4. If necessary, repeat the adjustment and recheck the deflection of the belt.
Note. Rotate the crankshaft 1 or more revolutions before rechecking deflection.
