Disassembly
Note: The driveshaft outer joint cannot be disassembled.
1. Remove retaining ring (1) with internal hinge (2).
2. Remove collars of an anther of the internal hinge.
3. Remove the boot (3) and inner hinge housing (4).
Attention: before removing the housing (5) and tripod (6) from the drive shaft (7) put assembly marks on them (8).
4. Use a flathead screwdriver to remove the retaining ring (9).
5. Using a suitable puller, remove the tripod (10) from the drive shaft (11).
6. Clean the tripod and shaft splines from grease.
7. Wrap the splines of the drive shaft (12) duct tape (13) and remove the duster (14) internal hinge.
8. Remove clamps (15 and 16) and dynamic damper (17).
9. Clamp the drive shaft (18) in a vice (19) in the indicated manner.
10. Remove dynamic damper (20) from the drive shaft (21).
11. Remove a collar and pull off anther of the external hinge.
Examination
12. Check for wear, damage or corrosion on the drive shaft splines, cross and rollers.
Assembly
13. Wrap tape around the splines of the drive shaft so as not to damage the anthers.
14. Lubricate the outer joint boot and install it.
15. Establish a collar of an anther of the external hinge. Gap A: 2.0 mm or less.
16. Install the dynamic damper as shown and secure with clamps. Distance RH: 405±3mm.
17. Establish anther and a collar of the internal hinge.
18. Align the marks and install the tripod (22), retaining ring (23) and hinge body.
19. Lay in the hinge boot as much grease as was removed during disassembly.
20. Install the anthers and secure them with clamps. For proper air distribution in the joint, make sure that the distance between the boot clamps is correct. Rated value: 504.1±2mm (left shaft); 792.0±12mm (right shaft).
