1 - bolt, 15–20 Nm; 2 - coolant outlet fittings; 3 - gasket; 4 - thermostat; 5 - thermostat housing.
Withdrawal
1. Drain the coolant to a level below the thermostat.
2. Remove the coolant outlet fitting and gasket.
3. Remove the thermostat.
Examination
1. Visually check the condition of the thermostat.
2. Hang the thermostat on a thread in a transparent vessel with water.
3. Insert a thermometer into the water, heat a vessel of water and observe the thermostat valve. Determine the temperature of the start of opening and full opening of the thermostat valve.
- Thermostat valve opening start temperature: 82°C.
- Thermostat valve full opening temperature: 95°C.
- Thermostat valve travel: 8.0mm
Installation
1. Install the thermostat so that the bleeder valve is correctly positioned in the seat. If the thermostat is installed in the wrong position, the base of the thermostat will touch the fin in the intake manifold, causing it to malfunction.
2. Install a new gasket and coolant outlet fitting.
3. Fill the cooling system with the required amount of the required coolant. Start the engine and check for leaks from the cooling system.
