1. Wrap tape around the drive shaft splines (tripod joint side) to prevent damage to the boots.

2. Apply grease to the drive shaft and install the dust boots.

3. Apply the recommended grease to the inner ring (A) and housing (B). Install the housing (B) so that there is a shift relative to the ring, as shown in the figure.

8. Tighten the tripod joint boot clamps.

9. Add the required grade of grease to the Birfield joint in the same amount that was removed during the technical condition check.

10. Install the anthers.

11. Tighten the clamps of the Birfield joint boot.

12. To ensure the permissible volume of air inside the tripod joint boot, maintain the specified distance between the boot clamps when tightening them.
