Removal and installation
1. Perform steps 1-8 of the "Removing and installing the front drive shafts" section of this chapter.
2. Loosen the shock absorber mounting bolts and remove the hub and knuckle assembly (A).
Note: Tightening torque: 137.2 - 156.9 Nm.
Caution: Be careful not to damage the rotor boot and teeth.

3. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
Checking the technical condition
1. Check the hub for cracks and the splines for wear.
2. Check the brake disc for scoring and damage.
3. Inspect the fist for cracks
4. Check the bearing for cracks and damage.
Disassembly
1. Using special pliers, remove the retaining ring (A).

2. Remove the hub assembly from the steering knuckle.
(1) Install the steering knuckle assembly onto the press.
(2) Install a suitable mandrel
(B) on the hub shaft.

3. Remove the dust cover (A).

4. Remove the inner bearing race from the hub.
(1) Install a suitable tool (A) to the hub assembly to remove the hub bearing inner race.
(2) Place the hub and tool (A) on a suitable mandrel (B).
(3) Install a suitable mandrel
(C) on the hub shaft.
(4) Remove the hub bearing inner race (D) from the hub using a press.

5. Remove the outer bearing race from the steering knuckle.
(1) Place the hub (A) on a suitable mandrel (B).

(2) Place a suitable drift (C) on the outer race of the hub bearing.
(3) Remove the outer race of the hub bearing from the steering knuckle using a press.

6. Replace the hub bearing.
Assembly
1. Install the dust cover (A).

2. Install the hub bearing onto the steering knuckle.
(1) Install the steering knuckle (A) on the press.
(2) Install the new hub bearing onto the steering knuckle.
(3) Install a suitable mandrel
(B) on the hub bearing.
(4) Install the hub bearing onto the steering knuckle using a press.
Attention.
Do not apply pressure to the inner race of the hub bearing as this may damage the bearing.
Always use a new wheel bearing.

3. Install the hub assembly onto the steering knuckle.
(1) Place the hub (A) on a suitable mandrel (B).
(2) Place the steering knuckle (C) on the hub (A).
(3) Install a suitable mandrel
(D) on the hub bearing.
(4) Install the hub (A) onto the steering knuckle (C) using a press.
Caution: Do not apply pressure to the inner race of the hub bearing as this may damage the bearing.

4. Install the retaining ring (A).
