Check the ease and smoothness of movement of the selector lever and its fixation in each position. Check the readings on the selector lever position indicator, which should match the position of the lever.
Check the operation of the gear selector lever locking mechanism.
Start the engine and check the operation of the gearbox control mechanism.
If faults are detected in the gearbox control mechanism, adjust the cable connecting the selector lever to the control valve block and the selector lever slider.
