Engine oil change
To change the engine oil, you must have the following replacement parts:
- In the event that the oil is not sucked out: copper sealing ring of the oil drain plug bolt.
- An oil filter suitable for the respective model and year of manufacture.
- Engine oil.
The oil level should be between the MAX and MIN·marks on the end of the dipstick.
Oil change is carried out depending on the type of engine at different intervals, according to «Service plan». At the same time, the oil filter is also replaced. Under severe operating conditions: frequent cold engine starts and very dusty roads, the oil and oil filter should be changed more frequently. Oil can be aspirated through a probe (at gas stations) and oil measuring tube.
Oil drain
Warm up the engine to operating temperature (coolant temperature 80-90°С).
Raise the car in a horizontal position.
Open the oil filler cap.
Unscrew the oil drain plug on the oil sump and drain the oil from the engine into the prepared container.
The presence of metal filings in the drained oil indicates damage to, for example, crankshaft bearings or connecting rods. After repairing the engine, flush the oil channels well.
Unscrew the oil filter located in front of the engine compartment
Oil filling
Tighten the drain plug with a force of 40 Nm.
Lubricate the O-ring surface with a small amount of clean engine oil (1) new filter.
Screw on a new oil filter that matches the vehicle model by hand. After the oil filter gasket is in contact with the engine block, tighten the filter another half turn with a tightening torque of 15 Nm.
Fill in new oil through the oil filler neck on the cylinder head. Check the engine oil level with an oil dipstick.
Fill in ½ liter less oil, warm up the engine and after a few minutes check the oil level with an oil dipstick and top up if necessary. Suck off excess oil.
Check the tightness of the drain plug and oil filter, tighten carefully if necessary.
After stopping the warm engine, check the oil level again, correct if necessary.
It is recommended that when replacing, constantly fill in the oil of the same type and the same brand.
