To determine the location of the oil leak, check the following areas:
After unscrewing the oil filler cap, check the gasket for porosity and damage.
Check the tightness of the ventilation hoses from the oil filler cap to the air filter.
Cylinder head cover gasket; cylinder head gasket.
The connection point of the ignition distributor flange.
Oil filter gasket.
Oil drain plug bolt (gasket).
Oil pan gasket.
The junction of the engine and gearbox (flywheel or gearbox shaft seal).
It is very difficult to immediately determine the location of the leak, so it is recommended to proceed as follows:
Wash and clean the engine thoroughly.
Sprinkle chalk or talc on the joints and gaskets on the engine.
Check the oil level and top up if necessary.
Inspect the engine after a test drive. Identify leak locations and repair damage.
