Disassembly



Remove the spring pin and separate the gear and sleeve.

Note: Do not reuse the O-ring and spring pin.


Assembly



1. Install a new O-ring onto the pinion shaft and coat the O-ring with automatic transmission fluid.

2. Insert the gear into the sleeve and align the pin hole and the groove on the gear shaft.

3. Install the new spring pin into the hole in the bushing. When installing it, make sure that the slot in the pin is not facing the gear.

4. Install a new O-ring into the outer groove of the bushing and apply automatic transmission fluid to the outer surface of the O-ring.
