General information
The ignition timing is determined and set by the engine control unit based on signals from various sensors and switches.
The engine control unit changes the ignition timing setting according to engine speed, amount of incoming air, coolant temperature and other conditions.
High voltage wires connect the ignition coils to the spark plugs.
The spark plug serves to transmit the high voltage current generated in the ignition coil to the electrodes in the combustion chamber, where this current produces a spark discharge to ignite the fuel-air mixture.
