The fuel filler cap can be opened from inside the vehicle by pulling up on the fuel filler cap release lever located on the floor at the front left of the vehicle.

Warning! If you cannot open the fuel filler cap due to ice, lightly tap or press on the cap to break the ice and open the cap. Use aerosol de-icers if necessary.


Open the fuel tank cap by turning it counterclockwise.

Close the fuel tank cap by turning it clockwise until it clicks.

If you cannot open the fuel tank cap in cold weather because it is frozen, press on the cap or tap it lightly.

Warning! Gasoline vapors are poisonous. Always turn off the engine before refueling. When handling fuel, make sure there are no open flames nearby. If the filler cap needs to be replaced, install only a genuine HYUNDAI filler cap designed for your vehicle. Sometimes, when unscrewing the cap at high ambient temperatures, a slight "hissing" sound may be heard. This is normal and is not a cause for concern. When opening the fuel filler cap, always turn it slowly.
