The fuel filler cap can be opened from inside the vehicle by pulling up on the fuel filler cap release lever located at the front of the floor on the left side of the vehicle.
Note: If the fuel filler cap cannot be opened due to icing, lightly tap or press on the cap to break the ice and open the cap. If necessary, use an approved de-icing spray (do not use antifreeze in the cooling system) or place the car in a heated room and wait for the ice to melt.
Warning: Gasoline vapors are poisonous. Always turn off the engine before refueling. When handling fuel, make sure there are no open flames nearby. If it is necessary to replace the filler cap, install only the original Hyundai cap, which is designed for your car.
Sometimes when the plug is unscrewed at a high ambient temperature, a slight "hiss". This phenomenon is normal and not a cause for concern. When opening the fuel filler cap, always turn it slowly.
