Parking brake (Hyundai Accent LC)

Always set the parking brake before leaving the vehicle. When the parking brake is set with the ignition switch in the "ON" or "START" position, the parking brake indicator lamp in the instrument cluster comes on. Before driving, make sure the parking brake is completely released and the indicator lamp goes out.

To engage the parking brake, pull the lever up until it stops.



To release the parking brake, pull the parking brake lever up slightly and press the button at the end of the handle. Then, while pressing the button, lower the lever down.

Warning! Driving with the parking brake applied will result in increased and premature wear of the brake linings.
