Transmission



Checking the level and replacing the transmission oil



1. Place the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine.

2. Unscrew the filler plug with the washer and check the condition and quantity of transmission oil.

3. If the transmission oil is clogged, unscrew the drain plug and drain the oil.

4. Tighten the drain plug with a new washer and fill with fresh transmission oil in the required amount.

Note:

Tightening torque:
  • M5GF1: 29.4~34.4Nm.
  • M6GF2: 58.9-78.5 Nm.

Recommended oil: SAE75W/85.

Oil capacity: M5GF1: 2.1 l. M6GF2: 1.8 l.


5. Tighten the filler plug with a new washer.

Note: Tightening torque: 29.4 - 34.4 Nm.


Checking the Reverse Light Switch



1. Disconnect the connector (A) of the reverse light switch.

2. Check the continuity of the switch circuit. When reverse gear is engaged, the circuit should be continuous.



3. Replace the reverse light switch if necessary.

Note: Tightening torque: 29.4 - 34.4 Nm.

Transfer case



Checking the oil level



Note: The transfer case oil level should be checked after 30 months or 60,000 km.


1. Place the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine.

2. Unscrew the filler plug and check the level with your finger. The oil level should reach the bottom of the hole. If the level is lower, add oil until it starts to overflow.

Oil change



Note:

1. The oil in the transfer case should not be changed. But if the car was operated in severe conditions, then after 120,000 km of mileage, the oil in the transfer case should be changed.

2. Severe operating conditions:
  • Driving on dirt roads.
  • Riding in the mountains.
  • Driving over 170 km/h.
  • Towing another vehicle or using the vehicle as a taxi.


Caution: The transfer case oil must be changed if the transfer case has been in water.

3. Unscrew the drain plug and drain the oil.

4. Tighten the drain plug with a new washer and fill with fresh transmission oil in the required amount.
