Removal and installation
1. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position and disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Raise the vehicle on a lift.
3. Remove the front muffler.
4. Turn away four fixing bolts and disconnect cardan shaft.
Note: Tightening torque: 49.0 - 68.6 Nm.
5. Disconnect the right drive shaft from the transfer case (passenger side).
6. Turn away bolts (A, B) and remove the rear roller stop.
Note: Tightening torque:
- (A) 107.9- 127.5 Nm.
- (B) 49.0 - 63.7 Nm.
7. Unscrew the 4 top (A) and 1 bottom (IN) transfer case bolt.
Note: Tightening torque: (A, B) 60.8 - 65.7 Nm.
8. Support the transfer case with a jack and remove it with a lever.
9. Installation is made in an order, the return to removal.
Note:
When installing:
1. Be careful not to damage the O-ring (A). If damaged, O-ring (A) replace with a new one.
2. Lubricate the splines (IN) molybdenum grease.
