2. Check the ease and smoothness of rotation of the tensioner pulleys and intermediate pulleys. If necessary, replace the pulleys with new ones.
3. Replace the pulley if a lubricant leak is found from its bearing.
4. Check drive belts for contamination with lubricants or dust. If contamination is found, replace the belts with new ones. Remove light dirt with a dry cloth or paper. Never use solvents to clean drive belts.
5. After overhauling the engine or adjusting the tension of the drive belt, check the belt with particular care. If any of the above problems are found, replace the belt.
Note:
- Do not kink, twist or turn the drive belt inside out.
- Do not allow the drive belt to come into contact with lubricants, steam or water.
