Removal
1. Disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery terminal (A).

2. Remove the driver's airbag module (B) by unscrewing the mounting bolts (A).

3. Loosen the steering wheel mounting nut (A).

4. Mark the steering shaft and steering wheel and press the steering wheel (A) off the shaft using a puller (09561-11002).
Note: Do not remove the steering wheel by hammering, as this may damage the steering shaft.

5. Remove the upper (A) and lower (B) steering wheel trim covers by unscrewing the mounting bolts shown by arrows in the figure.

6. Remove the lower instrument panel trim (B) by unscrewing the two mounting bolts (A).

7. Disconnect the connectors of the airbag module contact block and the steering column switch unit (A).

8. Remove the steering column switch unit (B) by unscrewing the mounting bolts shown in the figure by arrows (A).

9. Loosen the steering column (A) and lower shaft (B) mounting bolts.

10. Remove the steering column assembly (A).

Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
