Checking the technical condition of the drum brake mechanism (Hyundai Tucson JM)

1. Measure the inner diameter of the brake drum, it should be 228.6-230.6 mm. Check the runout of the brake drum.





2. Check the slave cylinder (A) for leaks. Check the drum brake linings (B) for cracking, glazing, wear and contamination. Measure the thickness of the brake linings (C). Nominal thickness is 4.5 mm, maximum permissible value is 1 mm.







3. Check the contact of the brake shoes with the drum.

4. Check the outside of the brake cylinder for excessive corrosion and damage.
