Removal
1. Using a flat-head screwdriver, remove the top cover of the center console.
2. Remove the screws and remove the lower part of the center console.
3. Remove the side covers of the center console.
4. Remove the pins and clips from the gear shift lever side.
5. Remove the gear shift lever assembly.
6. Unscrew the bolts and remove the retainer.
7. Remove the pins and clips from the gearbox side.
8. Remove the shift and gear selector cables.
Examination
1. Check the operation of the gear selection and shift cables and for damage.
2. Check the case for damage.
3. Check each bushing for wear or damage.
4. Check the spring for damage and loss of elasticity.
Assembly
1. Apply consistent grease to the sliding surfaces of the bushings.
2. The gear shift lever is assembled in the reverse order of disassembly.
Installation
1. Install the gear shift lever assembly.
2. Install the shift and gear selector cables.
