Attention:
- Incorrect towing may result in damage to your vehicle!
- If necessary, your vehicle should be towed by your local Hyundai dealer or a special towing service. This ensures that the vehicle is not damaged during towing. Additionally, professional towing services are usually familiar with local towing laws. But in all cases, to eliminate the risk of damage to the vehicle, it is recommended that you familiarize yourself with these instructions from the tow truck operator. Make sure the towed vehicle is secured with a safety chain and local laws are followed.
Towing a car with a manual transmission
When towing a vehicle with the front wheels off the ground, make sure the parking brake is released.
When towing a vehicle with the rear wheels off the ground, set the gearshift lever to neutral and the ignition key to the ACC (Accessory) position. This is necessary to avoid damage to the steering column lock mechanism, which is not designed to hold the front wheels in a straight-ahead position when towing.
If one of the loaded wheels or suspension parts is damaged, it is necessary to use a towing dolly from a tow truck.
Attention:
- Towing a two-wheel drive vehicle with un-hung rear wheels must be done using a tow truck with a wheel-hung system. Otherwise, damage to the drive shaft joint boots may occur when in contact with the towing hook if there is not sufficient clearance between the boots and the hook. Towing a four-wheel drive vehicle in the usual manner is prohibited.
- It must be transported with all wheels off the ground or on a tow truck platform.

Warning: If towed incorrectly, your vehicle may be damaged!
If your vehicle needs to be towed, it should be done by your authorized Hyundai dealer or a professional towing service. This will help you avoid damage to your vehicle while it is being towed. Additionally, towing service professionals are generally familiar with the rules and laws surrounding vehicle towing. In any case, we recommend that you show this information to the tow truck operator. Make sure to use safety chains and comply with local regulations.

Towing a car with a manual transmission

If the vehicle is towed with the rear wheels on the road, make sure the parking brake is released.
Make sure the ignition key is in the "ACC" (Accessory) position. This is to prevent damage to the steering wheel lock mechanism, which is not designed to hold the front wheels in a straight-ahead position when the vehicle is towed.
In case of damage to any of the loaded wheel or suspension parts, a towing dolly must be used.
Towing a car with an automatic transmission

Attention:
- It is prohibited to tow vehicles with automatic transmission backwards with the rear wheels raised off the ground and with the front wheels on the ground. This can seriously damage the gearbox. If it is necessary to tow the vehicle with the rear part raised, the front wheels must be on the towing dolly.
- If the vehicle is towed with the rear wheels on the road, make sure the parking brake is released.

Note: Check the automatic transmission fluid level before towing. If it is below the "HOT" (Hot) mark on the dipstick, add fluid. If you are unable to add fluid, you will need to use a towing dolly.
