Schedule of maintenance performed by the car owner
When refueling a car
- Check the engine oil level.
- Check the coolant level in the reservoir.
- Check the fluid level in the windshield washer reservoir.
- Make sure all tires are inflated to the correct pressure.
Caution: Use caution when checking the coolant level when the engine is hot. Hot coolant and steam escaping under pressure from the reservoir can cause a burn or other injury.
During vehicle operation
- Note any changes in the exhaust sound, as well as the appearance of exhaust odor in the cabin.
- Monitor the vibration of the steering wheel. Pay attention to the increase in the effort required to turn the steering wheel, the appearance of play in the steering wheel, a change in its neutral position.
- Pay attention to whether the car constantly "pulls" slightly to one side when driving on a smooth, level road.
- When braking, listen to the operation of the vehicle systems, note the appearance of unusual sounds, shifting to one side, an increase in the brake pedal travel or an increase in the force when pressing it.

- Check the operation of the manual transmission, including the operation of the clutch.
- Check the operation of the automatic transmission in the "P" (Parking) mode.

- Check the operation of all external lights, including brake lights, turn signals and hazard warning lights.
- Check the air pressure in all tires, including the spare tire.
