Owner Maintenance Schedule
When refueling the vehicle
- Check engine oil level.
- Check the coolant level in the reservoir.
- Check the fluid level in the windshield washer reservoir.
- Make sure all tires are inflated to the correct pressure.
Attention. Be careful when checking the coolant level when the engine is hot. Hot coolant and pressurized steam from the reservoir can cause burns or other injury.
During vehicle operation
- Note any changes in the sound of the exhaust, as well as the appearance of the smell of exhaust gases in the cabin.
- Watch for vibration in the steering wheel. Pay attention to the increase in the effort required to turn the steering wheel, the appearance of play in the steering wheel, the change in its neutral position.
- Pay attention to whether there is a constant small «withdrawal» vehicle in one direction when driving on a smooth, level road.
- During braking, listen to the operation of the vehicle's systems, note the appearance of unusual sounds, shifting to one side, an increase in the travel of the brake pedal or an increase in effort when it is pressed.
- In the event of an incorrect gear selection or any change in transmission operation, check the transmission fluid level.
- Check the operation of the manual transmission, including the operation of the clutch.
- Check the operation of the automatic transmission «R» (parking).
- Check the operation of the parking brake.
- Make sure there are no signs of fluid leaks under the bottom of the car (water dripping from the air conditioning system during operation or after shutdown is not a malfunction).
At least once a month
- Check the coolant level in the expansion tank.
- Check the operation of all external lighting devices, including brake lights, direction indicators and hazard warning lamps.
- Check the air pressure in all tires, including the spare wheel.
At least twice a year (those. every spring and autumn)
- Check radiator, heater and air conditioner flexible hoses for leaks and damage.
- Check the operation of the washer and windshield wiper. Clean the wiper blades with a piece of clean cloth moistened with washer fluid.
- Check headlight adjustment.
- Check muffler, exhaust pipes, shrouds and clamps,
- Check for wear and proper function of the lap-shoulder belts.
- Check that the tires are not worn and that the wheel nuts are properly tightened.
At least once a year
- Clean the drain holes in the car body and doors.
- Lubricate the door hinges and stops, as well as the hood hinges.
- Lubricate the locks and latches of the doors and hood.
- Lubricate the rubber door seals.
- Before the start of the warm season, check the air conditioning system.
- Check the power steering fluid level.
- Check the condition and lubricate the mechanical controls of the automatic transmission.
- Clean the battery and its terminals.
- Check brake fluid level (and fluids in the clutch release drive).
