Maintenance performed by the vehicle owner (Hyundai Tucson LM)

0
Below are lists of vehicle inspections that should be performed at the specified intervals by the owner or an authorized Hyundai dealer to ensure safe and reliable operation of the vehicle. In addition, your dealer should take into account any adverse operating conditions. These owner inspections are generally not covered by the warranty. Therefore, in some cases, the owner will be required to pay for the work performed, as well as for the parts and lubricants used.

Schedule of maintenance performed by the car owner

When refueling a car

  • Check the engine oil level.
  • Check the coolant level in the reservoir.
  • Check the fluid level in the windshield washer reservoir.
  • Make sure all tires are inflated to the correct pressure.

Caution: Use caution when checking the coolant level when the engine is hot. Hot coolant and steam escaping under pressure from the reservoir can cause a burn or other injury.

During vehicle operation

  • Note any changes in the exhaust sound, as well as the appearance of exhaust odor in the cabin.
  • Monitor the vibration of the steering wheel. Pay attention to the increase in the effort required to turn the steering wheel, the appearance of play in the steering wheel, a change in its neutral position.
  • Pay attention to whether the car constantly "pulls" slightly to one side when driving on a smooth, level road.
  • When braking, listen to the operation of the vehicle systems, note the appearance of unusual sounds, shifting to one side, an increase in the brake pedal travel or an increase in the force when pressing it.
  • If the wrong gear is selected or there are any changes in the operation of the gearbox, check the transmission fluid level.
  • Check the operation of the manual transmission, including the operation of the clutch.
  • Check the operation of the automatic transmission in the "P" (Parking) mode.
  • Check the operation of the parking brake.
  • Check for signs of fluid leaks under the vehicle (water dripping from the air conditioning system during operation or after switching off is not a sign of a malfunction).

At least once a month

  • Check the coolant level in the expansion tank.
  • Check the operation of all external lights, including brake lights, turn signals and hazard warning lights.
  • Check the air pressure in all tires, including the spare tire.

At least twice a year (i.e. every spring and fall)

  • Check the flexible radiator, heater and air conditioner hoses for leaks and damage.
  • Check the operation of the windshield washer and wiper. Clean the wiper blades with a clean cloth dampened with washing fluid.
  • Check the headlight adjustment.
  • Check the muffler, exhaust pipes, covers and clamps,
  • Check that the lap/shoulder belts are not worn and are functioning properly.
  • Make sure the tires are not worn and the wheel nuts are properly tightened.

At least once a year

  • Clean the drainage holes in the body and doors of the car.
  • Lubricate the door hinges and opening limiters, as well as the hood hinges.
  • Lubricate the door and hood locks and latches.
  • Lubricate the rubber door seals.
  • Before the warm season begins, check your air conditioning system.
  • Check the power steering fluid level.
  • Check the condition and lubricate the mechanical controls of the automatic transmission.
  • Clean the battery and its terminals.
  • Check the brake fluid level (and the clutch release fluid level).
