Owner's liability
Note: The owner is responsible for maintaining the vehicle and maintaining documentation.
It is necessary to retain documents confirming that the vehicle has been properly serviced in accordance with the periodic maintenance charts provided below. This information is necessary to confirm compliance with the requirements for repair and maintenance work specified in the warranty obligations. Detailed information on warranty obligations is contained in the technical service passport.
Warranty obligations do not apply to repairs and adjustments carried out to eliminate the consequences of maintenance that does not meet the manufacturer's requirements or failure to perform necessary maintenance. It is recommended to entrust the maintenance and repair of the car to authorized Hyundai dealers. Authorized Hyundai dealers are guided by the high quality standards adopted by Hyundai and are provided with technical support from Hyundai. This allows us to provide a high level of service.
Precautions to be taken when performing maintenance by the vehicle owner
Incorrect or incomplete maintenance may result in malfunctions. This section provides instructions for performing only the most basic maintenance operations. As explained in this section, some types of work can only be performed by an authorized Hyundai dealer using specialized tools and equipment.
Note: Improper maintenance performed by the owner during the warranty period may affect the validity of the warranty. For more detailed information, refer to the separate maintenance certificate issued when purchasing the vehicle. If you have difficulty performing any type of work, contact an authorized Hyundai dealer.
Attention.
- Maintenance work.
- Carrying out maintenance work on your vehicle may be hazardous to your health. Some types of work may result in serious injury. If the vehicle owner does not have the necessary knowledge and experience or the appropriate tools and equipment, the work must be carried out by an authorized Hyundai dealer.
- Working under the hood while the engine is running can be hazardous to your health. The danger is increased if you are wearing jewelry or loose clothing. They can get caught in moving parts and cause injury. Therefore, if you must keep the engine running while working under the hood, make sure you remove all jewelry (especially rings, bracelets, watches, and necklaces), as well as ties, scarves, and similar items of clothing before going near a running engine or cooling fans.
Precautions when working in the engine compartment (diesel engine)
The piezo injector operates at high voltage (maximum 200 V). Therefore, the following accidents may occur.
Direct contact with the injector or injector wiring may result in electric shock, muscle damage, or nervous system damage.
The electromagnetic wave from the working injector may cause the pacemaker to malfunction.
Observe the following precautions when checking the engine compartment with the engine running.
Do not touch the injector, injector wiring or engine ECU while the engine is running.
Do not disconnect the injector connector while the engine is running.
People with pacemakers should not go near the engine while it is starting or running.
Caution: Do not perform any maintenance on the fuel injection system while the engine is running or within 30 seconds of stopping the engine. The high-pressure pump, fuel rail, injectors and high-pressure lines are under high pressure even after the engine is stopped. A jet of fuel from a leak could cause serious injury if it comes into contact with a person's body. People with pacemakers should not go more than 30 cm (12 in) away from the ECU or electrical wiring in the engine compartment while the engine is running, since the high currents in the electronic engine management system can create strong magnetic fields.
