Owner's responsibility
Note. The owner is responsible for maintaining the vehicle and keeping records.
It is necessary to retain documents confirming that proper maintenance of the vehicle has been carried out in accordance with the periodic maintenance charts below. This data is necessary to confirm compliance with the requirements for repair and maintenance work specified in the warranty statement. Detailed warranty information is contained in the service data sheet.
The warranty does not cover repair and adjustment work carried out to eliminate the consequences of maintenance that does not comply with the manufacturer's requirements, or the failure to perform the necessary maintenance. It is recommended that you have your vehicle serviced and repaired by authorized Hyundai dealers. Authorized Hyundai dealers are guided by Hyundai's high quality standards and are supported by Hyundai. This allows for a high level of service.
Precautions for Car Owner Maintenance
Incorrect or incomplete maintenance can lead to malfunctions. This section provides instructions for performing only the most basic maintenance operations. As explained in this section, some work may only be performed by an authorized Hyundai dealer using specialized tools and attachments.
Note. Incorrect maintenance performed by the vehicle owner during the warranty period may affect the validity of the warranty. For more information, please refer to the separate Service Data Sheet provided with the purchase of the vehicle. If you are having difficulty doing any of the work, contact an authorized Hyundai dealer.
Attention.
- Maintenance work.
- Carrying out maintenance work on your vehicle can be hazardous to your health. When performing certain types of work, you can be seriously injured. If the vehicle owner does not have the necessary knowledge and experience or the appropriate tools and equipment, work must be carried out by an authorized Hyundai dealer.
- Working under the hood with the engine running can be hazardous to health. The danger is increased if you are wearing jewelry or loose clothing. They can get caught in moving parts and cause injury. So, if you need to keep the engine running while working under the hood, make sure you remove all jewelry (especially rings, bracelets, watches and necklaces), and a tie, scarf, and similar items of clothing before approaching a running engine or cooling fans.
Precautions when working in the engine compartment (diesel engine)
Piezo injector works at high voltage (maximum 200 V). Therefore, the following accidents may occur.
Direct contact with the injector or injector wiring may result in electric shock, muscle or nervous system damage.
The electromagnetic wave of the operating nozzle may cause the pacemaker to malfunction.
Observe the following precautions when checking the engine compartment with the engine running.
Do not touch the injector, injector wiring and engine ECU while the engine is running.
Do not disconnect the injector connector while the engine is running.
People with pacemakers should not come close to the engine while it is starting or running.
Attention. Do not service the fuel injection system while the engine is running or within 30 seconds of shutting it down. The high pressure pump, fuel manifold, injectors and high pressure lines are under high pressure even after the engine is turned off. A jet of fuel from a leak that comes into contact with a person's body can cause serious injury. People with pacemakers should not come closer than 30 cm to the ECU or electrical wiring in the engine compartment while the engine is running, because high currents in the engine control system can create powerful magnetic fields.
