Maintenance of the additional passive restraint system SRS (Hyundai Getz 1)

0
The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) is a non-serviceable system and does not have any components or parts that you can safely service yourself. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) as a whole should be checked by an authorized Hyundai dealer every 10 years from the date of vehicle manufacture.

Any works! Maintenance of the optional SRS Passive Airbag System (Inflatable Airbags) or in the vicinity of its components, such as removal, installation, repair or any work on the steering wheel, should only be performed by a qualified mechanic at an authorized HYUNDAI dealer. Improper handling of components (parts) or electrical wiring of the SRS Passive Safety Accessory System (Inflatable Airbag System) may result in serious injury.

Warning:
  • Restraints (child seats) must NOT be installed on the front passenger seat equipped with an airbag! When the airbag inflates, the restraint (child seat) can forcefully hit the seat back and cause serious or fatal injury to the child. Restraints (child seats) of this type must only be installed on the rear seats.
  • Very dangerous! Never install a child restraint system (child seat) on a front passenger seat equipped with an airbag, in which the child is positioned with his or her back to the direction of travel.
  • Modifying the SRS (air bag system) components or wiring, including attaching stickers to the air bag covers, may adversely affect the operation of the SRS and result in serious injury.
  • To clean the air bag covers, use only a soft, dry cloth or a cloth slightly dampened with clean water. Detergents or cleaners may adversely affect the air bag covers and their proper deployment.
  • Do not place any objects on or near the air bag modules on the steering wheel, instrument panel, or panel in front of the front passenger seat above the glove box as they may prevent the air bag from deploying properly and may themselves cause injury if thrown into the passenger compartment with great force when the air bag inflates.
  • The SRS (airbag) supplemental restraint system is designed for a single use. Once deployed, the airbags cannot be used again. They must be replaced immediately, and the entire airbag system must be checked or replaced by a HYUNDAI dealer.
  • Any work on or disconnection of the SRS wiring or other SRS components may result in sudden inflation of the airbags or failure of the airbags to function, which may ultimately result in serious injury.
  • In the event that SRS components (parts) are destroyed or the vehicle is scrapped, certain safety precautions must be taken. Your authorized HYUNDAI dealer is familiar with these precautions and can provide you with all the necessary information. Failure to observe these precautions and follow these procedures may increase the risk of injury.
  • In the event of transfer of ownership of the vehicle to any other person, the company strongly recommends that you inform the new owner that the vehicle is equipped with an additional passive safety system SRS (airbag system) and indicate the relevant section in this "Operating Manual".
  • If your car has been flooded with water above the floor level, do not attempt to start the engine; have your vehicle towed to an authorized Hyundai dealer.
