Three holes for installing the child restraint system mounting hardware are located on the rear vertical panel (behind the rear bumper pillar).
If you wish to install a child restraint hook, connect the mounting bracket to the mounting hardware and secure the seat.
Warning: For safety reasons, when installing the child restraint system (Danish seat), the seat must be in the rearmost position and its backrest must be in an upright position and not tilted.
Installation on the back seat near the door

To install a child seat in the rear seat by the door, pull the lap/shoulder belt out of the retractor. Install the child restraint device (child seat), fasten the seat belt and wait until the belt takes up slack (until the slack in the seat belt is eliminated). Make sure that the lap portion of the belt fits snugly around the child restraint device (child seat) and that the shoulder portion of the seat belt cannot touch the child's head or neck area.
Once the retaining device is in place, try moving it around to make sure it is secure.
If you need to tighten the seat belt, pull it out of the retractor mechanism. When you unfasten and retract the seat belt, the retractor mechanism will automatically return to its previous, normal state for fixing the seated passenger.
Note:
- Before installing a child restraint device (child seat), carefully read the instructions provided by the manufacturer of this device.
- If the seat belt does not operate as described above, immediately take your vehicle to an authorized HYUNDAI dealer for inspection.
Warning: Do not install any child restraint system (child seat) in the front seat. In the event of an accident, the front passenger air bag could injure or kill the child in the child restraint system (child seat). Therefore, install the child restraint system (child seat) in the rear seat of your vehicle.
Child seat attachment using the system "ISOFIX"

Some manufacturers of child seats expect them to be installed using the "ISOFIX" system. These child seats are equipped with two special locks that match the fastening elements on the back seat of your car. Such seats do not require the use of seat belts to secure them.
The ISOFIX fastening elements are located on the rear seat of your car near the windows - as shown in the picture. There are no ISOFIX fastening elements on the central place of the rear seat,
Warning:
- Do not install a child seat using the ISOFIX fasteners in the centre of the rear seat - they are not designed for this and may not withstand an accident. The fasteners are only intended for the rear window seats.
- Do not use one fastener to secure more than one child seat. The increased stress on the fasteners may cause them to break in a crash, resulting in serious injury.
- Use only the positions shown in the illustration to secure child seats using ISOFIX fastening elements.
- Always strictly follow the child seat manufacturer's instructions for installation and use.
1 - Mounting element "ISOFIX"
The ISOFIX fastening elements are located on the rear seat of your car between the backrest and the seat cushion on the left and right (near the windows). Strictly follow the instructions of the child seat manufacturer for its installation using the ISOFIX fastening elements.
After installing the child seat using the ISOFIX fastenings, rock it back and forth and side to side to make sure it is securely fastened.
Warning: If a child seat is not securely fastened, the risk of injury to the child in a crash is greatly increased.
Suitability of child restraints for use in different seating positions
Use only child seats that are officially approved for use in your vehicle and that are appropriate for your child.

UF: The seat is suitable for installing "universal" child restraints (child seats) in which the child is positioned facing the direction of travel of the vehicle and corresponds to the weight category in which the child falls.
X: The location is not suitable for installing child restraints (child seats) for this weight category.
Seat belt with pretensioner (models without airbags)
A pretensioner seat belt works in the same way as an automatic locking retractor (ELR) seat belt. If the vehicle stops suddenly or if the occupant tries to pull the belt out too quickly, the retractor will automatically lock the seat belt. However, in a moderate to severe frontal impact, the pretensioner seat belt will instantly retract the seat belt.
Note:
- When the seat belt pretensioners are activated, a small amount of smoke and a loud popping sound are emitted. These phenomena are normal and not dangerous.
- Seat belt pretensioners are designed for one-time use. Once the seat belt pretensioners have deployed, they will not deploy again.
Warning: Once the seat belt pretensioner has been deployed, do not attempt to check or replace the seat belt pretensioner mechanisms yourself. This must be done by an authorized Hyundai dealer.
Seat belt with pretensioner (models with airbags)
Your Hyundai is equipped with seat belts with pretensioners for the driver and front passenger. The purpose of such a belt is to ensure that the passenger is firmly secured in some cases during a frontal impact. The seat belt pretensioner can be activated separately, as well as together with the air bags in case of a frontal impact of sufficient force.

The pretensioner seat belt works in the same way as the automatic locking retractor (ELR) seat belt. In the event of a sudden stop of the vehicle, or when the occupant tries to pull the belt out too quickly, the retractor mechanism automatically locks the seat belt. However, in the event of a moderate to severe frontal impact, the pretensioner seat belt instantly retracts the seat belt.
1 - Driver's airbag; 2 - Front passenger airbag; 3 - SRS warning light; 4 - Seat belt pretensioner assembly; 5 - SRS electronic control unit.
The pretensioner seat belt system consists of the components shown in the illustration.
Warning:
- To achieve maximum effectiveness of the seat belt with pretensioner:
- 1. The seat belt must be fastened correctly.
- 2. The seat belt must be adjusted correctly.
Note:
- The driver and front passenger seat belts with pretensioners are activated in the event of a frontal impact of sufficient force. The seat belt pretensioners can be activated individually or together with the air bags in the event of a frontal impact of sufficient force. The seat belt pretensioners are activated in any severe frontal impact, even if the seat belt is not fastened.
- When the seat belt pretensioners are activated, a small amount of smoke and a loud popping sound are emitted. These phenomena are normal and are not dangerous.
- Although the smoke is not toxic, you should not inhale it because it may cause irritation, coughing, or choking if inhaled for an extended period of time. Wash your face and hands thoroughly after the seat belt pretensioners have deployed.
Attention:
- Since the sensor that activates the SRS airbags is connected to the seat belt pretensioner circuit, the SRS warning light
on the instrument panel will flash for approximately 6 seconds after the ignition key is turned to the "ON" or "ACC" (Accessory) position, after which it should go out.
- If the seat belt pretensioners are not working properly, this indicator light will come on even if the SRS air bag system is normal,
- You should have the vehicle checked immediately by an authorized Hyundai dealer if the SRS (air bag) indicator light does not come on when the ignition switch is turned to the "ON" position, or remains on after flashing for approximately 6 seconds, or comes on while the vehicle is being driven.
Warning:
- Seat belt pretensioners are designed for one-time use. Once seat belt pretensioners have been deployed, they will not deploy again. All seat belts must be replaced after a traffic accident, regardless of the type of seat belt.
- After the seat belt pretensioner assembly is activated, some parts of the pretensioner will be hot. Do not touch them for several minutes after the pretensioner is activated.
- Do not attempt to check or replace seat belt pretensioner mechanisms yourself. This must be done by an authorized Hyundai dealer.
- Do not strike the seat belt pretensioner assemblies.
- Do not attempt to service or repair the pretensioner seat belt system yourself.
- Failure to properly handle the seat belt pretensioner assembly, or to follow the instructions for not striking, modifying, inspecting, replacing, servicing, or repairing the seat belt pretensioner assembly may result in the belts not operating properly or accidentally deploying, causing serious injury.
- Always wear your seat belt when you are in a moving vehicle.
