1 - Shelf behind the rear seat
2 - Mounting latch
3 - Back panel
4 - Front of the car
Three mounting holes for the child restraint attachment are located on the rear vertical panel (behind the rear bumper).
If you wish to install a child restraint hook, connect the mounting clip to the mounting hardware and secure the seat.
Warning: For safety reasons when installing a child restraint (Danish sitting) the seat must be in its rearmost position, and its backrest must be in an upright position and not tilted.
Rear seat door installation
To install a child seat in the rear seat by the door, pull the lap belt out of the retractor. Install a child restraint (child seat), fasten the seat belt and wait until the belt picks up the slack (until the slack in the seat belt is removed). Make sure the lap belt fits snugly around the child restraint (child seat), and the shoulder part of the seat belt cannot touch the child's head or neck area.
Once the retainer is in place, try moving it in different directions to make sure it is secure.
If you need to tighten the seat belt, pull it further out of the retractor. When you unfasten and retract the seat belt, the retractor will automatically return to its normal position for securing a seated passenger.
Note:
- Before installing the holding device (child seat) carefully read the manufacturer's instructions for this device.
- If the seat belt does not work as described above, take your vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealer immediately for inspection.
Warning: No child restraints of any kind are allowed (child seats) in the front seat. In the event of an accident, the deployment of the front passenger's airbag could injure or kill the occupant in the restraint (child seat) child. Therefore, install the holding device (child seat) in the back seat of your vehicle.
Attaching a child seat using the system "ISOFIX"
Some manufacturers of child seats expect them to be installed using the "ISOFIX". These child seats are equipped with two special locks that match the fasteners on the rear seat of your vehicle. These seats do not require the use of seat belts to secure them.
Fasteners "ISOFIX" are located on the rear seat of your car near the windows - as shown in the figure. On the central place of the rear seat fasteners "ISOFIX" are not provided
Warning:
- Do not install the child seat with fasteners "ISOFIX" in the center of the rear seat - they are not designed for this and may not withstand in an accident. Fasteners are only provided for rear window seats.
- Do not use one fastener to secure more than one child seat. Increased load on the fasteners can cause them to break in an accident and cause serious injury.
- Use only the positions shown in the illustration to secure child seats with fasteners "ISOFIX".
- Always strictly follow the child seat manufacturer's instructions for installation and use.
1 - Fastener "ISOFIX"
Fasteners "ISOFIX" located on the rear seat of your car between the backrest and the seat cushion on the left and right (at the windows). Strictly follow the child seat manufacturer's instructions for installing it with fasteners "ISOFIX".
After installing the child seat using the fasteners "ISOFIX" rock it back and forth and side to side to make sure it is secure.
Warning: If the child seat is not securely fastened, the risk of injury to the child in an accident is greatly increased.
Suitability of child restraints for use on various seats
Only use child restraints that are approved for use in your vehicle and are appropriate for your child's size.

Seat belt with pretensioner (models without airbags)
The pretensioner seat belt operates in the same way as the self-locking inertia retractor seat belt (ELR). In the event of a sudden stop of the vehicle, or when the passenger tries to pull out the belt too quickly, the retractor mechanism will automatically lock the seat belt. However, in the event of a moderate to severe frontal impact, the seat belt pretensioner will instantly retract the seat belt.
Note:
- When the seat belt pretensioners deploy, a small amount of smoke and a strong popping noise are emitted. These phenomena are normal phenomena and are not dangerous.
- Seat belt pretensioners are designed for single use. Once the seat belt pretensioners have been activated, they will not work again.
Warning: After the pretensioner seat belt has deployed, do not attempt to inspect or replace the pretensioner seat belt mechanisms yourself. This must be done by an authorized Hyundai dealer.
Seat belt with pretensioner (models with airbags)
Your Hyundai vehicle is equipped with pretensioner seat belts for the driver and front passenger. The purpose of such a belt is to provide a clear fixation of the passenger in some cases during a frontal impact. The seat belt pretensioner can deploy alone or in conjunction with the airbags in the event of a frontal impact of sufficient severity.

1 - Driver's airbag; 2 - Front passenger airbag; 3 - Control lamp SRS; 4 - Seat belt pretensioner assembly; 5 - SRS electronic control unit.
The pretensioner seat belt system consists of the components shown in the figure.
Warning:
- To get the most out of your pretensioner seat belt:
- 1. The seat belt must be properly fastened.
- 2. The seat belt must be properly adjusted.
Note:
- The pretensioner seat belts for the driver and front passenger will deploy in the event of a frontal impact of sufficient severity. The seat belt pretensioners can deploy alone or in conjunction with the airbags in the event of a frontal impact of sufficient severity. The seat belt pretensioners will deploy in any severe frontal impact, even if the seat belt is not fastened.
- When the seat belt pretensioners are deployed, a small amount of smoke and a strong popping noise are emitted. These phenomena are normal and not dangerous.
- Although this smoke is not poisonous, it should not be inhaled as it can cause irritation, coughing or choking if you inhale it for an extended period of time. Wash your face and hands thoroughly after deploying the seat belt pretensioners.
Attention:
- Since the sensor that activates the SRS airbags is connected to the seatbelt pretensioner circuit, the SRS warning light on the instrument panel will flash for approximately 6 seconds after the ignition key is turned to "ON" (On) or "ACC" ("Optional equipment"), after which it should turn off.
- If the seat belt pretensioners are not working properly, this warning lamp will illuminate even if the SRS airbag system is in good condition,
- You should immediately contact an authorized Hyundai dealer for verification if, when turning the ignition key to the "ON" (On), SRS additional passive safety warning lamp (airbags) does not light up, stays on after flashing for about 6 seconds, or lights up while the vehicle is moving.
Warning:
- Seat belt pretensioners are designed for single use. Once the seat belt pretensioners have been activated, they will not work again. All seat belts must be replaced after a traffic accident (accidents), regardless of the type of seat belt.
- After the pretensioner assembly is deployed, some parts of the pretensioner will be hot. Do not touch them after the pretensioner has deployed for a few minutes.
- Do not attempt to test or replace pretensioner seat belt mechanisms yourself. This must be done by an authorized Hyundai dealer.
- Do not strike the pretensioner assemblies.
- Do not attempt to service or repair the pretensioner seat belt system yourself.
- Mishandling of the pretensioner seat belt assembly, failure to strike, modify, inspect and replace, service or repair the pretensioner seat belt assembly may cause the belts to malfunction or unintentionally deploy the belts and cause serious injury.
- Always fasten your seat belts when you are in a moving vehicle.
