Identification number (VIN) - used to register the vehicle and resolve all legal issues regarding its ownership. The number is indicated on identification plates located in three places (Fig. 1.2):
- on the engine side on the dividing panel between the engine compartment and the car interior;
- on the top of the instrument panel so that the number is visible through the windshield (optional equipment);
- at the bottom of the driver's door opening.

The engine number is stamped on the cylinder block (upper part), as shown in Figure 1.3.
