Heating and ventilation system control with round knobs

This model has four control knobs for the heating and cooling system. This:
- 1. Ventilation mode selection knob
- 2. Air intake mode selection switch
- 3. Air temperature control knob
- 4. Fan operation mode switch
This switch is used to turn the fan on and off and select its rotation speed. The fan speed and therefore the amount of air flow coming from the ventilation system can be changed manually by turning this switch between positions "1" and "4".
Ventilation mode selection knob

This knob is used to select the direction of the air flow. Main directions of air flows (ventilation modes) may be (in the leg area), (to the side window or windshield heating deflectors). To indicate the positions of ventilation modes (in the head area), (in the leg area / in the head area), (to the foot area / to the windshield and side window heating deflectors) and (to the windshield and side window heating deflectors) five symbols are used.

In the head area. The air flow through the deflectors enters the upper part of the car interior.

To the legs / to the head area. Air flows through deflectors into the upper part of the car interior and into the footwell area. This allows warm air to be supplied through the vents to the feet, and not warm or slightly warm air through the vents to the upper part of the cabin.

In the leg area. Air flows only to the leg area.

In the foot area / to the windshield and side window heating deflectors. Air flows through the deflectors to the footwell area, as well as to the windshield and door windows.
When selecting a mode (to the windshield and side window heating deflectors) the air conditioner will be automatically turned on and the outside air intake mode will be set ("FRESH").

To the windshield and side window heating deflectors. Air flows through the deflectors only to the windshield and door windows of the car. When selecting a mode (to the windshield and side window heating deflectors) the air conditioner will be automatically turned on and the outside air intake mode will be set ("FRESH").
Air intake mode selection switch

This switch is used to change the ventilation mode between outside air intake mode and recirculation mode. To change ventilation modes (outside air intake mode, air recirculation mode) click on this button.
Outdoor air intake mode:
Air recirculation mode:
In the outside air intake mode ("FRESH"), outside air is supplied to the vehicle interior, heated or cooled depending on the selection of other functions.
In air recirculation mode ("RECIRCULATION") the air in the car's interior is recirculated and heated or cooled depending on the selection of other functions.
Note:
- It should be noted that using the air recirculation mode for a long time can cause the windshield and side windows to fog up, and the air inside the vehicle will become stale. In addition, running the air conditioner in recirculated air mode for a long time can cause the air inside the car to become too dry.
- When the ignition key is in the "ON" position, the mode will be set automatically (regardless of the switch position). This is a normal phenomenon.
Air temperature control switch

This switch sets the desired degree of heating or cooling of the air.
Fan speed switch

[This article is based on information from the website: hyundaibook.ru]
The switch is used to turn the fan on and off and change its rotation speed.
The fan speed, and therefore the amount of air supplied to the cabin, is adjusted manually by setting the switch to positions from "1" to "4".
Interior heating

To warm up the air in the cabin in normal mode, set the air intake switch to outside air (
To quickly warm up the interior, turn on the air recirculation mode (
To clear fogged windows, set the air distribution switch to the glass blower position (
To obtain maximum air temperature, set the temperature switch to the "Warm" position.
Two-level supply of warm air

In your Hyundai car, warm air can be supplied to the passenger compartment at two levels. To do this:
- Set the air intake switch to the outside air intake position (
). - Set the air distribution switch to the "Face and Feet" position (
). - Set the desired fan speed.
- Set the air temperature control switch to the desired position between "Cold" and "Warm".
Ventilation

To turn on ventilation:
- Set the air intake switch to the outside air position (
). - To distribute air only through the instrument panel vents, set the air distribution switch to the "Towards Face" position (
). - Set the required amount of supplied air using the fan speed switch.
- Set the air temperature switch to a position between "Cold" and "Warm".
Removal frost and fog

To remove frost or fog from the windshield, use the ventilation and heating system.
To remove fog from the inside surface of the windshield:
- Set the air distribution switch to the "Window defrost" position (
). (At the same time, the air conditioner and outside air intake will turn on automatically.) Set the air temperature switch to the desired position. - Set the fan speed switch to one of the positions from "1" to "4".
Note: Long-term operation of the air conditioner in the air supply to the floor and glass blowing mode () or for blowing glass (
) may cause fogging of the outer surface of the windshield. In this case, set the air distribution switch to the "Towards the face" position (
) and set the fan speed to low.
Tips for use
To prevent dust or unpleasant odors from entering the passenger compartment through the ventilation system, temporarily turn on the air recirculation mode (
Air intake for the heating and air conditioning system occurs through grilles located in front of the windshield. Make sure they do not become clogged with fallen leaves, snow, ice, etc.
To prevent fogging of the inside surface of the windshield, set the air intake switch to the outside air intake position (
