Checking the technical condition
Check the signal waveform of the crankshaft sensor (CKPS) and camshaft sensor (CMPS) using the GDS.
Removal
Caution: Do not remove the camshaft position sensor while the engine is running or immediately after it has stopped, as this may result in a burn from hot engine oil squirting out.
1. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position and disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery.
2. Disconnect the camshaft position sensor connector (A).

3. Remove the camshaft position sensor.
Installation
Attention.
- Tighten the component mounting bolts to the specified torque.
- Be careful not to drop the component. If dropped, the component must be carefully checked before installation.
- Lubricate the sealing ring with coolant.
- Be careful not to damage the sealing ring.
- Install the sensor carefully.
- Be careful not to damage the sensor housing and connector.
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
