1. Using a feeler gauge, measure the gap between the inner (A) and external (IN) rotor. Permissible clearance is 0.120-0.200 mm. If the gap exceeds the allowable value, the inner and outer rotor must be replaced.
2. Using a ruler and feeler gauge, measure the clearance between the pump rotor and the housing cover. Permissible clearance is 0.020-0.070 mm. If the clearance exceeds the allowable value, the oil pump assembly must be replaced.
3. Unscrew the oil pressure sensor from the engine.
4. Using an ohmmeter (A), measure continuity between terminal (IN) sensor and its housing (WITH). If the circuit is open, replace the sensor.
5. Insert a wire into the sensor hole (A) and gently push, the chain should open. If the circuit is continuous, replace the sensor.
