The onset of corrosion can be prevented by following these requirements:

Keep your car clean

The most effective way to prevent corrosion is to keep your car clean and protect it from aggressive substances. Pay special attention to the cleanliness of the underside of the vehicle.

If the vehicle is operated in a corrosion-hazardous area - where roads are salted, on the sea coast, where there is industrial pollution of the natural environment, acid rain, etc. - it is necessary to take special measures to protect against corrosion. In winter, wash the bottom and underside of the car body with a stream of water from a hose at least once a month and at the end of winter operation.

When washing the bottom and underbody, pay special attention to the wheel housings and other hidden areas. Rinsing must be thorough: simply wetting the stuck dirt instead of removing it with a stream of water will only accelerate corrosion, rather than prevent it. Dirt and corrosive substances are removed particularly effectively using a high-pressure water jet or steam.

When washing the lower part of door panels, trims and body frame parts, make sure that water flows freely through the drainage holes and does not accumulate inside, accelerating corrosion.

Keep your garage dry

Do not park your vehicle in a damp, poorly ventilated garage where conditions are conducive to corrosion. This applies primarily to cases when you wash your car in the garage or park it in the garage when it is wet, covered in snow, ice or mud. Corrosion also occurs in a heated garage if it is poorly ventilated and moisture builds up in it.

Monitor the condition of paintwork and finishing parts

Scratches and paint chips should be covered with a finishing paint as soon as possible to prevent corrosion. If the paint is scratched or chipped down to the metal, it is recommended to seek the help of specialists in body and painting work.

Don't forget about the cabin and luggage compartment

Moisture can form under soundproofing mats and floor mats, causing corrosion. Always ensure that the floor underneath the mats is dry. Use extra caution when transporting fertilizers, detergents or chemicals in your vehicle.

They should be transported only in special packaging, and if they spill or leak, remove them, rinse the leak area with water and dry thoroughly.
