Replacing the air filter (Hyundai Elantra J2)

The air filter becomes dirty during operation, which reduces fuel efficiency. Replace the filter with a new one.

1. Remove the air intake hoses and pipe.

2. Disconnect the air intake sensor connector from the air cleaner cover.

3. Disconnect the intake air temperature sensor connector.

4. Disconnect the air filter cover clamp.

5. Remove the air filter cover.

Note: The air cleaner cover must be removed with care as it contains the air flow sensor.

6. Remove the air filter.

7. Install the new filter element and press it onto the air filter cover.
