Checking the condition of the brushes
Note. Hot industrial wax, which is applied in automatic car washes, is known to make windshield cleaning difficult.
Contamination of the windshield or wiper blades with foreign matter can reduce the effectiveness of the wiper. Common sources of contamination are insects, tree sap, and hot wax used in some commercial car washes. If the brushes do not clean the glass well, wash the glass and brushes with a good quality detergent or neutral cleaner, then rinse thoroughly with clean water.
Attention. To prevent damage to the wiper blades, do not use gasoline, kerosene, solvent, or other solvents near them.
Brush replacement
If the wipers are not cleaning the glass properly, the wipers may be worn or damaged and need to be replaced.
Attention. To avoid damage to the wiper arms, do not attempt to move them manually.
Attention. Use of incorrect wiper blades may cause the wipers to malfunction and fail.
Windshield wiper blade
1. Raise the wiper arm and rotate the wiper assembly to access the latch.
Note. Do not let the wiper arms fall on the glass.
2. Open the wiper blade cover.
3. Squeeze the latch behind the lever and remove the wiper from the lever.
4. Install the brush in place until the latch clicks.
5. Close the wiper blade cover.
6. Move the wiper lever to the normal position.
Rear wiper blade
1. Raise the wiper and remove the brush.
2. Install a new wiper blade. To do this, insert the central part into the groove located in the wiper handle and push until it clicks.
3. Check that the brush is firmly seated by pulling it slightly. To avoid damage to the windshield wiper or other parts, have the wiper blades replaced by an authorized Hyundai dealer.
