Rear Axle — Removal (Hyundai Tucson JM)

1. Loosen the car wheel mounting nuts, then lift the car and unscrew the mounting nuts completely.

2. Remove the wheel (A) from the wheel hub (B).



3. Remove the speed sensor (B) from the knuckle (A).



4. Remove the cotter pin (A), then unscrew the lock nut (B) and remove the washer (C).



5. Loosen the bolts (B) securing the trailing arm to the knuckle (A). Then loosen the bolts and nuts (C) securing the transverse arms.





6. Pull the wheel hub (B) towards you to remove the drive shaft (C) from it.



7. Install the pry bar (A) between the main gear housing (B) and the CV joint housing (C). Then pull the drive shaft (D) out of the main gear.
