Rear axle — disassembly (Hyundai Tucson JM)

1. Remove the clamps, then remove the offset groove constant velocity joint boot.





2. Using a screwdriver (A), remove the retaining ring (B).





3. Remove the drive shaft from the CV joint.

4. Remove the retaining ring (A), then remove the inner ring (B), race (C) and balls (D).





5. Wash the inner ring, race and balls.

Checking the technical condition

1. Check the outer ring, inner ring, race, balls for wear and damage.



2. Check the splines for damage.

3. Check the Birfield CV joint (A) for foreign materials.
