Switch replacement
1. Set the car to the parking brake.
2. Set the gear selector to position "M".
3. Remove the air filter assembly.
4. Remove the battery.
5. Remove the platform for battery operation.

6. Disconnect the downshift switch plug.
7. Loosen the nut (A) securing the automatic transmission mode selection cable.

8. Loosen the mounting nut and remove the downshift switch.
9. Check the continuity of the circuit in the switch. If the circuit is broken, the switch must be replaced.

10. Tighten the nut securing the gearbox operating mode selection rod, then connect the switch plug.
11. Install the platform, battery and air filter assembly.
Checking the technical condition
1. Check the starter with the ignition on (START position) and the automatic transmission mode selector in the P or N position.

2. Check the mode switch if it does not work properly.
3. If the mode switch is not installed in the correct position, it must be removed and installed correctly.
4. Repeat checking of points 1 and 2.
5. To check the technical condition, use a special device.
6. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and the mode switch plug.
7. Check the continuity of the circuit between the terminals of the switch plug.
8. If there is no circuit between the plug terminals in any position of the selector, the gearbox mode switch must be replaced.
