- Test conditions: Battery voltage - 12 V.
1. Connect voltmeter leads between glow plug body and center contact.
2. Measure the voltage of the circuit with the ignition on.
3. The preheating system warning light must be on for 6 seconds (starting phase), the glow plug supply voltage is within 9 V. After the engine is started, the glow plugs should work for approximately 36 seconds (warm-up phase), the supply voltage of the glow plugs is within 9 V.
Note. The continuous operation time of the glow plugs is determined by the value of the coolant temperature.
4. If the values of the supply voltage or the operating time of the glow plugs do not meet the requirements, check the individual elements of the system.
5. Check the resistance between the connector and the housing as shown in the figure. The normal resistance value is 0.25 ohms.
6. Check glow plug for damage.
