If the engine stalls at an intersection or crossing
1. If the engine stalls at an intersection or crossing, place the gearshift lever in the N (Neutral) position and then manually move the vehicle to a safe location.
2. If your vehicle has a manual transmission and does not have an ignition interlock switch, the vehicle can be moved forward by engaging 2nd (second) or 3rd (third) gear and then engaging the starter without pressing the clutch pedal.
If a tire goes flat while driving
If the tire goes flat while driving:
1. Take your foot off the gas pedal and let the car slow down while continuing to drive straight. Do not try to brake and pull off the road immediately, as this may result in loss of control. Once the car has slowed to a safe speed, begin to brake carefully and pull off the road. Park on a hard, level piece of ground as far from the road as possible. If you are on a divided highway, do not park between two lanes.
2. After stopping the vehicle, turn on the hazard warning lights and the parking brake, and put the gearbox in position P (automatic transmission) or reverse (manual transmission).
3. Disembark all passengers from the vehicle. Make sure that they all get off on the side where there is no traffic.
4. When changing a flat tire, follow the instructions in this section.
