Multifunction switch — removal and installation (Hyundai Tucson JM)

To remove the multifunction switch in vehicles equipped with airbags, you must follow the safety precautions for removing the airbag (see Chapter "Passive safety").

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Note: After disconnecting the negative battery terminal, wait at least 30 seconds before starting any work.

2. Loosen the 2 screws while holding the air bag module with a wrench. Disconnect the horn connector and the air bag module connector, and remove the module (A).



3. Loosen the mounting nut and remove the steering wheel.



4. Set the steering shaft to the straight-ahead position and remove the steering wheel using a special tool (09561-11002).





5. Remove the upper and lower steering column covers by unscrewing 4 screws.



6. Loosen the 3 screws holding the multi-function switch. Disconnect the connector. Remove the multi-function switch.



7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
