Removal and installation
When removing the multifunction switch on vehicles equipped with an airbag, be careful and observe the following conditions.

Warnings!
- Do not disassemble any of the SRS components. Disassembling the components may render the SRS inoperative.
- Avoid contact of the airbag with solvents or cleaning agents.
- Transport the airbag separately, with the bag facing upward.
- If any SRS component has been dropped or has cracks, dents, or other defects in the housing, bracket, or connector, replace them with new ones.
- Do not place your hands on the airbag during transportation.
- Do not heat the airbag unit to temperatures above 93°C.
- After the airbag has deployed, replace the sensor coil spring with a new one.
- Before installing the air bag sensor coil spring, align the mark and neutral position indicator of the sensor spring with the front wheels in the straight ahead position. If the coil spring mark is not aligned properly, the steering wheel will not be able to turn fully or the coil spring wire will be damaged, preventing the SRS from operating normally.
1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.

3. Unscrew the steering wheel mounting nut.

8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Examination
With the multi-function switch in each position, check the continuity between the corresponding connector contacts. If the continuity is not as specified, replace the multi-function switch.
